I am currently:
I feel so frustrated and mad at myself!

I stop one behaviour, and start up another. When I first started hurting myself, it was through punching and stuff like that. Then scratching/cutting, then I would "quit" and start picking at my skin. I'm trying to stop both now, but now I'm freaking pulling out my hair!
I just want to be healthy, and I feel like overall I am doing better, I'm not nearly as depressed and the anxiety is not as bad either, but why do I still do this?

these are all coping mechanisms that you have learnt to use at the signs of stress or negative emotion. you need to try and learn how to use more positive strageties.x

*sighs* I know that there are more positive coping skills, but I don't know how to use them :(

It is actually quite common to give up one method of self-harm and to then replace it with something new. This happens because until we learn more positive coping mechanisms we are gonna still hurt ourselves to deal with the stress/emotional pain we are in. Also to be able to give up self-harm we also need to identify why we are hurting ourselves and work through the causes of it. Do you have any support? If you are serious about wanting to stop you may find it helpful to have a read through this article. Take care
