Where have all the smilies gone?!
I went up town today to run some errands, one of which was to find supplies for my new journal/record keeping whatever (book of "Happiness", if you will...) as part of my recovery. A member here suggested using stickers on a calendar to keep track of and have a physical reward every day I go without SH... so I looked everywhere for a package of stickers that are (preferably) smiley faces, or perhaps stars or something corny like that.
What did I find?
NOTHING.
I live in a small town where things are pretty normal/common so finding something specific can be hard sometimes but I checked the dollar store and the drug store and NOTHING. They both are the only place that would sell something like that.
I remember a time when lame smiley face stickers lined the racks at the check out counter of these places. I remember always thinking "other than if you're a kindergarten teacher, WHAT would you use these for?"
Now everything is wedding, baby or vacation themed for scrap booking.
I scrap book, and enjoy it, but I gota say, it's kind of ruined your every day lame stickers you use to be able to always find. I haven't seen a plain horse or dog sticker in ages! Where did they all go?!
I'm going to have to dig through my scrapbooking stuff for anything that might work, and if all else fails DRAW a smiley face on the calendar!!
