question for those with Borderline Personality Disorder *mentions OD*

this is maybe going to sound like a daft question...but im wondering whether those of you that have BPD are impulsive when it comes to OD's.

is it something you do alot too?

just wondering whether its something 'we' all do or whether its me.

I have BPD and have taken impulsive overdoses.

Impulsiveness can be a problem with BPD. Do you have any support?

Have you thought about the events leading up to OD's and examined the alternative actions you could have taken?

the majority of the times they aren't impulsive.

yeh i have a CPN, the thing with me i i always reflect on it after i've done it, i can't seem to figure out alternatives before i do something.

i have a problem with change so i'm still figuring out how to change my behaviours without it effecting me too much

Yeah, all the time when I'm not in a good place mentally. Hence my GP will now only let me have daily dispence of my meds.

When I was a bit younger I used to do this all the time. Now, not so much. I think that it is because I am at uni now so I am busyer with my day so I have less 'me' time and uni keeps me saneish.

yeah whispered secret, they have me on weekly scripts now...its not bad as i get them free. i know that one day i will be trusted with a months supply.

I have BPD and have struggled a lot with impulsive ODs in the past. I've worked through a lot of stuff in the last few years but sometimes it still becomes an issue.

I have BPD and take a lot of impulsive OD's, I just can't seem to stop myself and only reflect on it after, I'm like you have my meds in weekly supply

I have BPD and I take a lot of overdoses. Most of them aren't really impulsive though as I get my medication weekly so it takes some time to save it up.

I have BPD & taken debateably "impulsive" ODs in the past. I don't anymore though, my dangerous impulses are well controlled now so there is hope for you :)

I have BPD and have taken impulsive OD's as well as other things in the BPD criteria so no worries it's not just you

*hugs* (if you're okay with that :) ). Yeah, I've taken impulsive OD's in the past and have BPD. Well, in the back of my mind it's been going through my head, but I'd just see the pills, and yeah, the rest is history.

I have BPD and all of my ODs were on impulse.

I am a generally impulsive person, moreso when it comes to spending money.

many of my actions are impulsive not just OD's but yeah... *hug*
