Basically, I'm a little addicted to the Sims 3 at the moment, so I thought I'd make a thread for discussion, pictures, questions, cheats and the like.
My family tree is slowly growing, since I started off with my first Sim, I've had three children, seven grandchildren and I've just had my first great-grandchild.
Computer game or not, don't you just feel a sense of achievement?
Also, has anyone else ever properly played the game without using ANY cheats whatsoever? I tried and it lasted for about thirty minutes..

Oooh I've only just got Sims 3 (yes, I'm a little behind the times), so it's still confusing me. I onlt had the very first basic Sims beforehand, so Sims 3 appears to be a lot more complex! But I do love it lots, especially if I'm using it to procrastinate from uni work.
And I've played the odd game on my old Sims without cheats, but it got rather boring because I was just too poor :P And congrats on your pretty impressive famly tree!
I have Sims 3 :). But, for some reason, my newest expansion packs won't install on my computer!
Honestly, I really like the home building and interior decorating :D. I love building mansions and filling them with everything I wish I could afford in real life!
No, I have always used cheats. I'm too impatient to get my Sim a job and work for everything :P
I might be in the minority here but i dont like Sims 3 . I played sims 2 for ages and when i got sims 3 it was way too different and i just couldnt get into it. I just found all the complex neighbourhood stuff really unnecessary but to be honest i didnt give it much of a chance.
I have it on PC and Xbox 360. I recreated the characters from Stargate SG-1 and made their life spans epic and they have all gotten to level 10 in their careers and Jack and Sam got married and had a kid.

If you gave it a chance, you'd probably love it more than Sims 2 :P I tried playing Sims 2 recently and it's just inferior xD
Also Lucy, there's the money cheat, age cheat, ghost babies, promotion cheat, etc. etc. Google it. :P

i have an obsession with making houses and decorating them and then playing with the family for a few hours and then making a new family/house. My neighbourhood in bridgeport is massive.
I adore the cheat where you can buy stuff from egypt/china/france when your at home and have all the extra clothes and such! and also the cheat where you can expand apartments! It makes me happy.

I once made the entire Cullen clan (yeah I know, what a dick) with no cheats or anything, and managed to last for about 3 months. I ran out of character names though for each time one of them popped out a sprog so I ended up killing them off. But, yeah..
I can only play it on a computer though. I find it's never the same on a games console. Woe'z.
I just made the best frickin' garden EVER.
I need to take a picture of it when I'm next playing, it has a gazebo and everything. Took me about an hour to do it all and I was like OH EM GEE THIS IS SO FRICKIN' AWESOME.

I LOVE the sims 3..
I've turned off ageing at the moment, but had a baby and used the cheat to turn them into a child :P
I don't cheat with money or careers, I cheat with the moods as it does my head in how often they need to eat or wee, seriously! :P
Only cheat I have ever used in Sims 3 is the money cheat... I use it just enough so that they have enough money to build a new house & swimming pool & buy two cars.... & then I stop cheating. I haven't been on there for ages though, but my current Sim Declan is a writer & has written 22 books so far & Hayley (his girlfriend, they've moved in together) works at the football stadium & takes cooking classes after work =D
