Relapsed and unsure why..

Basically after a year of being free from SI, i've suddenly relapsed and i'm not even sure why. For that entire year, it could have even been more than a year, SI barely even entered my mind. I feel like i'm "over" the reason(s) I started in the first place so I don't know why its affecting me again. I'm not even sure why i'm posting this but I felt the need to share seeing as I can't really talk to anyone else, so thanks for reading this if you did x

i only recently joined too and like you have gone months without self harming. ive been harming for 6 years now and can go long bouts between. i wish i had the answers but i do know that even if u do manage to stop, SI is a feeling that will never truly leave, its an addiction like any other. the only thing to do is take one day at a time. just because you slipped up doesnt mean you have to go back to the way it was. you have to see it as a replase that you can recover back from, dont let it snowball into something more.

It does help knowing that there are other people going through the same thing, people that understand. Even just knowing that there are people I can openly talk to about this helps.
I'm just hoping I can stop this time before it gets out of hand again.

I've also, for a few months been in a bit of a relapse after being clean for over a year. My thoughts, initially upon 'relapsing' were hurtful and upset for failing. I sense that you're also feeling a bit disappointed in yourself. This is just a stumbling block on the road to recovery though, or so I tell myself. The fact that you made it so long without SIing means you have the strength to beat it once and for all! You can do it and everyone here will support you though it!

I am quite dissapointed yeah. I guess when I first stopped I was quite naive and thought that was it. It had left my life for good. But now I can't help but wonder that, seeing as its creeped back into my life now, is it always going to be like this? I just don't know..

Oh also, now that I think about it, it must be around 2 and a half years that I had been SI free. I didn't realise it had gone by that quickly.
