Off the top of my head, here are a few pointers I've learned after the many different people I've had to see...
Don't withhold information. If something's wrong, they need to know, or else the sessions won't be productive. I do this all the time, and usually regret it.
Make sure whoever you're seeing is somebody you're comfortable with. If you're not comfortable with somebody, try and switch people, but of course do not use that as an excuse to skip sessions.
Try not to get the person who talks a lot. If you're anything like me (shy, reserved, hesitant to open up), then if you get somebody who does a lot of talking, you might not be able to get a word in edgewise.
Don't be scared. They really are there to help, so try not to be too nervous.
I wish you all the best! Good luck!
