I visualize cuts on my family
and find myself sad they aren't real.
I do it all the time. I just want them to have these forearm cuts and we could touch scars and never feel alone and all be beautiful. Even my seven year old sister. Her skinny arms aren't good enough.
I told my therapist this and the color in her face drained. I love my family and when I think those thoughts I could cry because they are so evil and disturbing. Ever experienced this? It's not like I hate my family, it's so weird.

i can understand your way of thinkn. you wanna feel like they can relate to you and not feel alone in what you are going through. if you talk to them about what you are feeling and how you feel it may help. they dont need to have the scars to listen or just be there for you

I can kinda relate. I'm always scanning other peoples' arms for cuts and scars... almost hoping to find someone else out there like me. I don't want them to have to go through all the pain I've had, but it wouldn't feel so bad to not be alone.

We are male and female. We are artists, athletes, and students. We have depression, PTSD, eating disorders, bipolar disorder, or maybe no diagnosis at all. Some of us were abused, some not. We come from all walks of life and can be any age. We are every race or religion that you can think of. Our common link is this: We are in pain. We self-injure. And we are not freaks.

I can understand too. Sometimes when I see other people's bare arms, I visualise scars on them, I don't want to create them or hurt them in any way but for me it's just daydreaming; I've even visualised scars on my three year old niece, it's not very pleasent.
You're not alone.

Grace that is exactly what I do. When I see their arms I just think of what it'd be like to have their bodies cut. It's pretty strange.
