General Medical Question - Non Urgent - Painful teeth, possibly stress related?

My dentist is possibly the most rude & abrupt person I know plus I'm not seeing her for another 5 months so I can't ask her about it. These past few weeks when I've been feeling especially stressed and distressed, I keep waking up with really painful teeth both the lower and upper molars really hurt especially when chewing anything. When I feel less stressed after a couple of days the pain subsides and dies away. Only to then return when my stress levels pick up again.

It's just the teeth themselves that hurt, not my jaw and they only hurt when I chew (even on soft foods). I was wondering what might possibly be the cause of it if it is connected to stress levels, I was pondering as to whether or not it may be teeth grinding in my sleep or something?

If anyone has any experience of this I'd appreciate your input

They can't be bought, bullied, reasoned or negotiated with.
Some men just want to watch the world burn.

I was going to suggest teeth-grinding, but you've already thought of that!
I get it too if I'm very stressed. Unfortunately I have no idea how to stop though, apart from decrease your stress and I am sure you know that already!
So yeah. Pointless post really, sorry.

There are, it has been said, two types of people in the world. There are those who, when presented with a glass that is exactly half full, say: 'This glass is half full'. And then there are those who say: 'This glass is half empty'.
The world belongs, however, to those who can look at the glass and say: 'What's up with this glass? Excuse me? Excuse me? This is my glass? I don't think so. My glass was full! And it was a bigger glass!

Yeah it sounds like teeth grinding, even if the teeth feel they're hurting it can be the nerves or muscles (i think..) i also get it when im stressed, i find brushing my teeth more regularly helps although that could be psychological i brush them every time it gets bad. Also laying cheeks on hot water bottle. My least favourite but apparrently helpful (i havent tried it) but i bite gaurd that you can get in sports shops is suppossed to stop grinding all together my mum wears one as she gets it very bad and it helps alot. I also use like ambesil (sp?) on my gums, that can help sometimes. If it gets really bad though you should get an emergancy appointment, maybe ask to have it with someone else, or if its a private clinic, find an nhs one as an alternative? SOrry if this is aweful advice i hope you get your toothy pegs sorted

you can get guards for this specially made, plus I cant see why you dont make another appointment with the dentist regardless of her attitude .Thats what shes getting paid for.

It became like a sort of prison. Encased in a silver shell, words so full of bleeding need spilled like drops on dry leaves. And all the while laughter prevailed a long way from here. Nowhere land, nowhere time, nowhere space.

Hey. I just wanted to say that I definitely think teeth grinding is a possibility. I just found out a few months ago that I grind my teeth at night. It was causing headaches and my teeth were unusually sensitive and painful. It was also related to stress. When I was more stressed, I would grind them harder. Unfortunately, it also did some damage to my teeth over time, which I'm pretty pissed about. I got a mouth guard from wal-mart that you boil and then bite down on so that it imprints your teeth. It wasn't very expensive and it works. It is tough to get used to though.

I would give that a try if you think it could be teeth grinding.

Good luck! :)

Just what am I supposed to say?
And tell you why I turned out this way?
Don't make me. Don't make me.
