I know I need help...
I've tried to keep my ED at bay, but it's becoming harder and harder not to throw up. I'm really, really struggling not to self-harm and my heads in a mess.
I know if I ask my Dad, he'll get me sectioned, but I'm scared.
Not that he won't understand, because he will, and he'll help me all the way.
But, what's going to happen?
I'll lose my flat, my friends...everything.
What happens in a Psych ward?
God, I need this, I really do, but I'm terrified.

I've never had an ED, but psych wards can vary. Some are really helpful and others are the opposite. Why will you lose your flat?

I have a visual impairment / neurological problems so I need people to type in clear text and no funny fonts. Also excuse any typos, my vision blocks things out.
I have autism and have problems communicating, PMs included.
Just becasue I type well doesn't mean I speak well. I am only part time verbal.
Ive only been in a psych ward once and they pretty much left me to my own devices apart from some doctors visits. But i wasnt sectioned, it was voluntary. Hope it goes ok Sarah xx
Can you tell your psych about your concerns? I believe there are things that can be done about that in terms of money.

In Scotland, the only thing that can be done is if you are in receipt of housing benefit and to be eligible for that you have to be on a low income or on benefits. I am on neither.
Also, you have to be resident in the property for housing benefit to be awarded, I wouldn't be resident in the property, I've already gone over this with a JCP/DWP advisor.
What I really want to know though...
What happens if you admit yourself/are voluntarily admitted?
I've heard horror stories about being locked in your room etc.

I'm sorry to hear that it's so hard for you.
I've never been in an ED ward (as I've never had an ED), but I've been on an adolescent ward, an adult walk, and a secure unit. The adolescent ward was ok, but the adult ward sucked. However, ironically enough, the secure unit really helped me.
Anyway, my opinion is that wards vary. Some can be very helpful but others aren't.
Which ward would you go to? Perhaps there's someone else on RYL that's been there and can provide advice?
