Joining the bone marrow registry

I really want to join because I know it could help someone a lot, but I'm a little ashamed to admit that although I'm not really scared of the actual donation, I'm scared of the side effects. Mostly "some soreness" for a few days to a couple weeks (depending on how you donate). I know it's a kind of ridiculous because the receivers of the donations go through sooo much more, and even once you join the registry, you can change your mind at anytime. I've been thinking about it for awhile now and I think I just need some encouragement to help me feel brave enough to!

only you can decide if you want to join it or not. Its a big descion.I just wonder aswell if you have lookeed at the bone marrow website which gives you information as i know that there are some reasons you can join it. I have considered it for a long time but for other reason i dont think i can join it.But what im saying is you could think like yeah it will cause you abit of pain for a few days but at the end of it it would be helping to maybe save someones life.And i mean you go through pain most days as in if you fall or walk in to something.

I've just been accepted onto the marrow register. The process takes absolutely ages! Like months! And the chances of getting to donate are pretty slim.
