Hi, I was just wondering if I could get some people's experiences with therapists? I've been seeing mine for about 5 sessions now, a month apart, and I'm finding them really useless. They honestly make me more depressed and tired than anything else. I was just wondering what these sessions are supposed to go like? What are we supposed to talk about, the kind of things they work on, and how they helped people?
Thanks!
So complicated,
Filled with so much hatred, Such a tired game
It's enough, I've done all I could think of, Chased down all my demons
I've seen you do the same
Pretty, pretty please, don't you ever, ever feel
Like you're less than f*cking perfect
Pretty, pretty please, if you ever, ever feel
Like you're nothing, you're f*cking perfect to me <3
Sessions go differently for everyone, and everyone has different issues to work on.
Maybe the sessions make you tired because they are dredging up emotional things that feel painful?
If you've only had five sessions, I'd say stick with it. It takes time.
It can really vary from therapist to therapist, as there are many therapeutic models that can be very different.
It is almost always considered, though, that therapy (especially when working on past issues or aspects of your personality) can make you feel a lot worse before you feel better, which is why you have to be relatively stable before you begin undertaking some kinds of therapy.
So it's really hard for me to give you answers to your questions, I'm sorry.
Hey, just wanted to clear up that we don't really work on any issues at all, we just talk about school work or 'how things have been' on a very superficial level, and I honestly feel like it's not going anywhere...?

Thats the way it begins at first. Until you want to get into deep issues. I seen a consllour for 13 years, since I was 5 years old, until I was 18 ( and forced to leave) It took me until I was 16 years old to open up, and now I had to leave her, and have huge issues with abdoment.
sorry.. that problery wasn't helpful...
I guess my point is, don't be too closed, he/she is their to help you, not hurt you.
Take care. PM me anytime
