Anxiety Meds?

Hi,

Does anyone have any anxiety medications that they have used and can tell me. Did they help? What the name of the med?

I have been having a lot of problems with anxiety and i will try anything at this point.

I've been on Propranalol which was okay but really slowed me down. I've also been on Citalopram for anxiety, which I find only worked for a short while but might work better for you.

But if i still believe you love me, maybe i'll survive.
So i tell myself you're coming home, like you've done a million times.
& if it's alright, i'll still be loving you.
'cause i can't break it to my heart.

Speaking to a GP is the best bet here, as they can prescribe a med more suited to your needs.

The treatment for anxiety tends to be an anxiolytic or an antidepressant - as these are often used for anxiety as well as depression.

I personally think an Anxiety Management course is also worth attending - they tend to be group based, but some places will offer 1 to 1 sessions as well. The course would provide insight and information on the causes and workings of anxiety and stress, as well as different ways you can cope with it, such as breathing exercises, or changing negative thinking patterns (and recognisisng them for what they are) so that you can rationalise the situation at hand.

Best of luck.

I'm on both citalopram and propanalol. I still suffer quite badly with anxiety, but they do take the edge off.
