Ideas for how to keep myself safe?
Last week I had an awful week full of episodes and was scared to leave my room incase I did something to hurt myself.
I asked my husband to remove everything sharp from the kitchen and bathroom, and all of my tablets.
I did hurt myself once, but it wasnt as severe as it could have been if I had access to everything he took away.
Anyway, as it stands there are no scissors, knives e.t.c. in the drawers. It's getting kind of annoying when making dinner and stuff (especially as we have carers due to physical problems.)
Yesterday I said my husband could put the scissors back in the kitchen, and one of my tablets back in the medical cabinet. But I don't want everything going back all at once as it would feel too overwhelming.
I know where everything is, but it would be immense effort to climb up to where it is and my husband would almost definetly hear me trying to do it and get to me before I could get to the box.
But its not really practical to have everything on a really high shelf. I'm considering getting a locked box, but is that really normal? Luckily all of my carers understand, but if we got someone new I'm scared it would look pretty stupid, and as if I was attention seeking. I just feel safer with them all away.
Has anyone got any suggestions? Or does anyone see where I'm coming from? I'm just scared it sounds stupid.
