Hello..

Umm..hello, i hope this is the right place. I posted it in the introductions too.

This is the first time i have used a forum for this kind of thing, its more for support and answers than anything else.
My partner Self harms, i understand it to a point, and im used to dealing with the aftermath of it, but sometimes it gets hard. Like yesterday he locked himself in one of our rooms and it ended with a bucket load of police, a dog and even some negotiators.

Im just finding it really tough atm...and talking to strangers about it feels weird if im honest...i dont really know what im looking for here..something/anything?

Sometimes I feel like weeping, awake and when I'm sleeping, perfecting how to put a game face on

hey, glad you joined :)

Self-harm can be difficult to understand and i understand that its weird to talk about on an internet forum but you need to be supportive of your partner, he's clearly going through a hard time. However, you also need support for yourself if you're struggling to deal with this. I dont really have alot of helpful advice as ive always been the Self-harmer, not the one having to deal with it. However, feel free to PM me if you want :)

Hey,
It sounds like you're in a really difficult situation right now, and as SoLost says, you also need someone to talk to about what you're going through. It must be extremely hard to watch someone that you love hurting themselves, and it's not always clear what you can do to help. I know this probably sounds really obvious, but just try to keep talking to your partner and let them know that it is safe for them to talk to you about whatever it is they're feeling. I know that for me personally, there is a lot of guilt associated with the idea that someone that I care about is upset by the fact that I've hurt myself - so for me to be completely open and honest about how I'm feeling, I need to be know that that person isn't angry with me and will support me despite how they feel.
I hope you and you're partner are okay,
take care
xxx
