Scared of myself

Do any of you here ever become "scared of yourself?"

As if you're not really sure what you might do next. And how do you protect yourself?

I spent 4 days in my room because its the only "safe" room in the house, but yesterday I went into the living room to make a phonecall and it ended quite badly.

Do any of you have any methods you use when you feel yourself getting into a 'bad place'?

All I keep hearing is "You need to help yourself." The problem is, I have no idea how to do that, and nor does any of the professionals who say it to me!

There's a phoneline in my area I can use at night and I do phone sometimes but I dont really find it that helpful. I cant do the usual go for a walk or exercise as I suffer from an illness that causes lack of energy, plus I have anxiety about being alone.

So what do you do (constructivly) (sp?) when things get bad? :)

Thanks

Do you have a friend, or contact that you can get hold of - Sending a text or e-mail if you are unable to get hold of the phone or phoning feels too much (I tend to loose the ability to speak when in a bad place, so text, e-mail or tweet).

You can also always come on here, to RYL and use the Live Help or Chat rooms, or PM someone to see if they are available to talk or type on msn or something similar?

In terms of being scared of myself, in my lowest phases I can be scared of my own thought process, as I know it puts me at risk. The main thing to do with it is to sit down and rationalise, write out lists, if it helps of what the rationale is behind a thought.

The main thing for me though, is letting someone else know (for me, normally my bf).
