Bearded dragon has cancer
So i noticed a lump on my beardie and I took him to the vet. And apparently it's cancer. He's also got another lump inside that they don't know what it is. I decided not to do anything about it, as it cost me $100 just to get him looked at/diagnosed, and the vet said it's most likely spread to his blood and he's also quite old. I kinda feel like it's the end of his life so I should just let him go, and if I see him suffering I'll get him put down. (he's still eating and is very active despite it) I feel kinda bad though just not doing anything about it. Does it sound like I made a good decision? To me there's probably not much I could do and him being old I kinda feel like it's just time for him to go when he goes, and I also can't afford hundreds and thousands of dollars. Plus the vet said even that it's unlikely removing the tumor that's on the outside would even fix it. I still feel bad though like I'm not taking good enough care of him.

Oh my gosh!!!I'm so sorry. I think you are making the right decision. It is hard but you are doing the best thing for him. Since he is old and the surgery might not fix anything, it is best just to let him live out the rest of his days in peace. I surgery while it could possibly fix the cancer might be too stressful for him.
Trust me, you are doing the right thing. Just make sure to take care of him and spoil him as much as you can. You really care about him, so it is only natural that you feel bad you can't do anything else to make him better. Some people might disagree with me but pets become family and we get the same love for them. If a person close to you was old and going to die soon, would you have them suffer through surgery or let them live the rest of their life peacefully? What would you want if it was you at an old age?

I'm so sorry about your beardie...(((Hugs)))) I think you are doing the right thing. It's always hard when we cant afford to do everything possible for our pets, but I think he would understand. Take care of yourself..

AW im so sorry but i think you're making the right decision, my cat got really nasty cancerous tumour and she had to have two opps (with the help of insurance) plus other things and she was so porley from it all that i regret doing it in some ways because it never caused her pain or distress but now she gets a lot of pain and discomfort in different parts and got nasty infections from where she scratched at stitches. Shes fairly old too and i think id have rather just left her comfrotable and nurtured and spoiled her rotten and let her go when she was ready. Im not putting her through it again if it comes back. I think that your being a good owner, make him comfortable and love him lots (which im sure you do anyway) Im sorry you're going through this though i bet he's had a wonderful life amd will until the end with what you're planning. Take care, again im sorry x
