PLEASE HELP!

ive been waiting 6/7months for councling from the nhs but i have to have a phonecall assesment first. i really dont like talking at the best of times let alone to a stranger. sorry really beginning to panic about it. i have no idea what to expect or what will happen from then onwards. what if they say i dont qualify for help

I've never had an assessment like that on the phone but I imagine it will be simple question and answer. If you really don't think you can manage it then ask to have the assessment in person instead?
Though, if you're on the phone and seemingly very anxious it is less likely they will think you don't qualify for help [as the anxiety alone will be a big thing for them to help you work on.]

I guess phone call assessments is more economical, convenient and efficient from their point of view.

it might help to have some notes with the main things that you want to say, so that you don't blank or get too anxious to answer the way that you want to. also, you can go ahead and tell them that talking on the phone to a stranger makes you very anxious, so could they please be patient, or something like that.

thank you, had the call yesterday. asked alot of questions and lots of number scale things. glad its over with but have said its going to be another 4months till i can get any help :(
