Anyone used a dating site?
I'm thinking of signing up for a dating site because i'm finding it hard to come up with ways to meet people and i've never been in a proper relationship despite being 24. Has anyone used a dating site and, if so, how was it? Thanks.

I put it down on paper and then the ghost does not ache so much.

All my relationships have come from a dating site; i find it a lot easier than trying to meet people elsewhere, particularly as I'm not the clubbing kind of girl. I've had all positive experiences from them (meaning people are who they say they are etc.) - because you know, as you're going to be meeting strangers off the internet you need to be careful.
Let me know if there's anything else you think I could add :)

Hi there :)
I've used a dating site also and i've met a few nice people on there, one i'm currently dating! I also met my last partner of 4 and a half years on a forum (not this one). I feel you can talk more openly with people online but if you do meet people you've met online, be extremely cautious, no matter how old you are! Even if it means having your best friend sitting in the corner of the restaurant! lol Be safe whatever you decide to do :) But its definitely worth a shot!
Take care x

I've been on dating sites off and on for awhile, I agree with the statement above me. Like everything else you get out of it what you put in it.

I personally wouldn't use them.
I prefer to meet people in real life, through friends or at a shared interest place (the theatre/art exhibitions/museum/pub/park). I also prefer to be friends with the person for some time before hand.
Obviously it's down to personal preference - but I will remind anyone considering it to be safe and only meet in public places :D

I'm not great with this kind of thing as the best relationship I've had, started with sex at a party, but...
I have a friend who uses them and he's always encouraging me and saying about the people he meets. Just be careful though :)

To say I'm completely devoid of morals, would be harsh. Although I would have to admit I find it difficult to give a ****.

but he is really happy and has been for just over a month. as others have said, as long as you are careful, it can turn out amazingly well :) just make sure you are careful x

I'm tempted to sign up for one, think it could be interesting, if nothing else.
Anyone know any decent ones that are free? Preferably UK based?
