A&E crisis
can anyone answer me this...
... if you go to hospital and say your not coping, what can they do to help? Are they able to give you meds to help for the short term? if not whould they be able to do anything to help me right now
I'm desperate here

After they assess you, just going on my expereinces btw. If its not the on call psych then the crisis team with assess you either, give you some support; HHT/IP/CMHT etc or if they feel they need to section you. It all depends on the out come of the assessment. When i got assessed by the crisis team before i was already admitted to the ward though that was due to an od then after they assessed me i got an appointment with a cpn for the following week.

after they asses you is it common practice for them to keep you there without sectioning you? i dont think they would section me but that all depends what i say to them i suppose. i have pills stored and stuff but i dont want to be under section

If the 'being sectioned' part came up then you be best to agree to go in voluntarily.
But they would see that were the one that went to them for help so that be in your favour.
They would most likely get the home treatment team involved maybe or get an urgent app with a shrink or a cpn.
Depending on what you say to them. And all the circumstances etc.

tobehonest depends were you live because some areas in uk or us are different some dont do much to help and are sh*T and only a few places are helpful or it depends who you end up seeing and if their any good
generally they dont sectin enless it really nesseccary
what ive come acros is you get assessed they put a plan in place a care plan or somethink of the sort and give u support and send you on your way or may let you stay their for a few hours
depends if their any good unforutently some area's lack in good professional help also like were i am
is their anyway you could talk to a friend a family member ect....
