I am currently:
How to deal with Paranoia?

I have experienced paranoia for quite some time and do not know what to do. Right now I am experiencing paranoia and am trying not to lose it and my family keeps telling me to rationalize it away but I can't. It comes and goes and I hate that when it hits it is just like there's nothing I can do about it even though I am taking medicine for my OCD. My OCD exacerbates the paranoia. I'm hypervigilant all the time with it hits. Also it makes me unable to sleep and I already have insomnia so basically I don't get a lot of sleep when I am paranoid.

Does anyone have any advice on how to deal with Paranoia?

Sorry if this was already a thread; I searched to see if it was and did not find any results that said it was already a thread.

my thoughts get paranoid when i am unwell. what helps me was to look for myself at the evidence i actually had for whatever i thought was going on. not just 'i think that...' or 'i get the impression that...' or 'i feel that...' but actual hard evidence. it was really painful doing that because my paranoid thoughts just wanted to be in control but it did help. also what has helped was having my medication reviewed. i'm not completely free of the scared thoughts now but it's lots better than it was. oh and also once i got a bit more in control i was able to say 'i don't care if such and such belief is true, i'm going to carry on with my life as normal'. but that can be too hard to do when the paranoia is strong.

'Reality checking' with the sensible part of myself, and also with others, is what helps me.
