Maybe you could ask her to go get you something while the test is being done? Like as you're in the waiting room, say something along the lines of "I'm sorry, but I'm totally starving - if I were to pay for it, could you maybe run and get me something to eat somewhere while this is being done so I can eat while we wait for the results?" I know it seems kind of mean to lie to her like that, but often parents get really insulted or upset if you ask them to wait in the lobby, so you have to phrase it as asking them a legitimate favor sometimes. That's how it works with my mother anyway.
