Early Intervention Team
*Please move this if i have posted it in the wrong place as i was unsure on where i could post it*
Hey,
I am just wondering if anyone can help me,
I am currently living in west yorkshire and i am receiving help from the early intervention team which i am really benefiting from as i see a CBT therapist, a social worker, and a support worker. (so i am seeing someone about 3 times a week).
What the question is,
I am looking at getting away from the area and moving to scotland (Dumfries and Galloway) Does anyone know if they have any early intervention teams up there? as i cannot find anything on the internet about it.
Thanks.
Becky

If I'm honest, I didn't even know what one of these was until I moved to MK and I found mine absolutely useless. I had taken a paracetamol OD about a week before my appointment, I was really suffering and the girl said to me 'I'm not really sure you would be suitable for my program' and then suggested a bit of counselling. I told my GP and my GP said 'Counselling probably won't benefit you when you are suffering from BPD'.
Sorry that's besides the point. My best friend lives in my old hometown and she is seen by the early intervention team there I think. I would advise ringing up the NHS and asking I suppose. Or any of the mental hospitals up there as that is where my friend sees the EIT in Guildford.

im pretty certain that early intervention teams exist alongside every CMHT. As with all services however, the quality will probably differ.

I'm with the EIT but I was never considered to be a priority, I'm being transferred to a long-term service now >< West Yorkshire has been pretty good though, good luck with the Scottish CMHT, hope they're just as good :)
