When buying t-shirts...

Okay I have found a T-shirt that I want to buy from Hot Topic but I want to buy it from the American website 'coz the item is not listed on UK website. I know I'm not allowed to list sizes on here but I just wanted to ask how you convert a UK size to as US one?

My friend said base it on chest size but my question is how do you measure chest size? She said you get one of your current t-shirts & measure it the width of that from side to side & then double the measurement you get.

Is that right?

Don't want to order it & end up having to go to the trouble of sending it back.

xx

But.. t-shirts normally just come in XS, S, M, L, XL, and so on.. so number sizes wouldn't be much help..
There also is a 'Size Chart' link on the site that includes a UK conversion chart, under where it says 'Size' and 'Quantity' so maybe check that out?
And to measure chest size, take a tape measure and measure around your chest.. not sure measuring a t-shirt is best as they stretch, you know?

http://www.qualitylogoshirtsonline.c...asurement.html

that may help

It all depends on if its a unisex or a girls shirt and sometimes the manufacturer.

on the website it should have a sizing guide. that says small-chest _ _ cm, waist_ _cm ect.
to measure your chest its best to measure on your self, around the nipple line (thats the way dress makers do it)
But roughly it should be the same as UK sizes.

On the hot topic site, there is a sizing chart just under where you choose the size you want, it also tells you wear to measure (at the top of the pop up window)

The American size is two sizes smaller than ours.
So, say someone was a UK 14, they'd be a US 10.

I hope I made sense then and didn't just ramble :P
