What could this be? (Relationship)
I wrote a lot. It's a wall, I get it.ha. I guess I just needed to get this out on paper (so to speak), see what happened!
Hey all. Well, I'm not very good at this whole asking for relationship advice thing, but I really feel like sharing this. So, I got out of a 2 year relationship about 5 months ago. I started casually dating again about 2 months ago, not looking for anything serious, just putting myself out there and meeting people. Well, as one would have it, when you're not looking for something it finds you. I met someone, and we instantly clicked. We opened up to each other very quickly (I'm a Psych major so I know this is a big part of relationships). We have so much in common, yet we are very different people who have lived very different lives. Well, you might wonder what the heck the problem is! I have my emotional baggage, and I self-harm, which I recently began again after a long time SH free. I've begun counseling again. She has PTSD and is just beginning to deal with her trauma for the first time since it happened 3 years ago. Both of us first said we could not handle anything serious right now, we need to focus on ourselves. However, there are certain facts I can not ignore. She has nightmares nearly every night, the first night she stayed over she woke up from a nightmare and within seconds I woke up. I am a heavy sleeper so this was very strange. She had actually been very careful not to wake me. The second night we slept over together, she slept through the entire night, at my place (which is very strange for someone with PTSD who has nightmares). The third time, she had a nightmare again, and once again I woke up a few seconds after she did. I am a believer in personal energies, and I'm beginning to think that we have a connection beyond anything I've known before. The other night, she had a flashback, which we got through together. Afterwards, we kissed and it was completely electric. Just, I couldn't move my body it was so intense. And now whenever I've kissed her since it's like I melt into the floor. I've never experienced this before, and I've been in multiple long-term relationships. Every time she calls or messages me I smile. She completely surprises me and she is so kind to me. We both admitted to "having crushes on each other." (Ha, I haven't said that since early high school).
My question: What is this? Is this an opportunity I should not pass up? Should I continue to focus on me, considering I have not been single long? She recently got out of her first long-term relationship as well. Should I just go with the flow and see where this leads, considering it has only been 2 months? Is this something unique, or has anyone else experienced this before and can tell me what it is?
Sorry for the wall of words. I really got into this.
