A question to males... (and girls i supposse) about a christmas present
Hey.. I'm friends with this lad, he's the same age as me and we get down to a tea, we only know eachother via hospital, i'll be leaving in a week or so and i wanted to get my closest friends something, out of 8 months being there he's the one person ive felt i've related to the most and just gnerally gotten on really well with, ive felt like i've had a real friend. He makes moves and such, even though it frightens me i think im not making it obvious and keeping it at a close friendship stage. I wanted to give him something meaningful as i know his stay in hosp isnt at an end yet. Knowing he's religious i wanted to get him a st. christopher for protection on his 'emotional journey' you can get a males one in argos and i liked the idea, he doesnt have to wear it. But i just dont want to scare him.. i dont want him thinking its a move because it really isnt i just wanted to give him a meaningful item to say thank you and good luck really, show he's not alone. I wanted to give him something for protection and a st christopher seemed most appropriote for him really..
Is this too personal, is it too much, would it distress one of you? I just dont want to make him panic... would appreciate all opinions, thanks x

Give it him with a letter explaining what it is and what it's for.
That's what I do if I want to give a gift that could be misconstrued as something else.

^ Agree. No reason not to do that for him if you really want to, just explain it.

agree also. just make absolutely sure it wont be miscontrued, as you may end up doing more harm than good if he is in a vulnerable place
