fairy lights
Some people have fairy lights up around their walls inside their bedroom etc. How do you get them to stay up?
I've got some to go around my bed but I want to put some on my walls.

Use those little white hook pins that you use for pinning wires to walls.
You can get them in b&q or wilkos.
I fail at describing so I googled them.

We're no good at DIY in our family. Is it literally just knocking them in with a hammer? Cos thats pretty much our limit!

I used white tack 'cos it went with the walls, but those little thingies are such a good idea.

Yeah, just a hammer, but someplaces, now do sticky ones too.
I was in a garden centre the other day and they had them in for christmas lights.
A lot of people around here put lights around their windows for christmas. We used to have woden framed windows so it was just a matter of putting a drawing pin in. But now everyone has gone to plastic window frames, so you can use pins. Hence the sticky ones are coming more popular.

I use sticky tape because it's a rented place and I am not allowed to put holes in the wall (and yet they refuse to fix the hole we have in our wall due to damp and their negligence, but that's another story).
Imperfection is underrated.

we aren't allowed "large holes" at college so we use blu tak as well but if that fails we use straight pins that people get for sewing
A question that sometimes drives me hazy: am I or are the others crazy?

My mum suggested picture hooks.
I put some up around my bed and bookcase, just used a bit of sellotape here and there, but today got a "curtain" of lights so will try picture hooks.

Awesome.
I want some more fairy lights. So far I have them on my shelves above my desk, but I want some more around my bed now to make it look even more cosy!
