Ok so I have a promblem its with that beloved boyfriend who is always testing the boundries....
Now for friday he wants us to do pot/weed together so i can see what it is like before i say i hate it and that it is completly horriable...
It has done alot in my family with alot of issues... My sister can lose her son.... My stepneice is in the custody of her grandparents not her mom and stepdad.... My brother has a crimnal record and when high did stupid stuff which makes it so he isnt allowed near children under 12 including his step daughter... My birht mother and father lost custody and gave up 4 kids... my aunts husband is a total jerk when he does it... and when he last did it he made out with another girl....
I know it will just be me and him... but I do want to try it but i know it is wrong... I dont know what to do...
I say no........leave it well alone
Youve seen the destruction it has caused your family.
Its not a good thing to be messing with hun.
Please take care
xxxx
It seems that it's cause a heck of a lot of bad things in your family and I'd push you to stay away. However, it is less damaging than some things. It's also a very damaging for other things.
The most important thing I can say here is that IF you were to try it it MUST be YOUR decision. NEVER be forced into it by peer-pressure, regardless of whoever it may come from.
The very fact that you have doubt enough to post here asking about it suggests to me that you probably shouldn't, nor should you let your decision be clouded by the love you have your boyfriend - if his love matches your's he will not press you on it once you've said 'No'.

the fact that it's illegal and it has had monstrous effects on your family with huge consequences, maybe you don't want to try it.
what would happen if you enjoyed it? are prepared to become a regular pothead, spending all your money on it because it's a new way to relax? as money levels dip, stress levels increase, and when you use, you are liable to do anything. do you really want to become that person?
if not then i would say that the chances of liking it are 50/50 and that's too high a gamble on your life and your future.

Resident stoner's opinion: weed is not evil, dangerous, will not make you into a "pothead", or make you do all those bad things your family did. It may, however, make you more likely to do bad things you were on the brink of doing anyway. I like it, I can see I'm in the minority here, but for me it's been cool. Like alcohol, when I'm having a tough time it can make things a bit more difficult because I'll choose to get high/drunk rather than face the problem. It has got me through some tough times however and is very good for insomnia. Plus, it's fun! If you want to make up your mind, the only informed decision would come from experiencing it first hand. BUT you should decide for yourself and make sure you're ready because if you're feeling anxious about it then chances are you won't enjoy it. Only you can decide what you want.
I have always wanted to try it... but i am just scared cus of all the horriable things that has happened... i was againstit for so long... and now i will try it.. i feel like a hyprocrite... humf

i agree completly with what you have said.trying it wont make you a "pot head" but you shouldnt do something you dont want to do or dont feel ready to do.Drugs can effect people in different ways. Its your decision for what you do.
I hope whatever you decide is the right thing for you.
what i was saying was if you tried and and liked it you are likely to do it again and again until you got into a habit (not addiction), of doing it...even if things start going badly.

im glad youve made a decision.
i was just going to add that ive tried weed and i never liked it.
however...i became an alcoholic and drug addict.
anything taken to the extreme is harmful.
alcohol was my worst enemy and ive seen it do far more damage to my family and friends than marijuana ever did.
just my opinion.
alcohol was once illegal for a very good reason too.
xx
it was againt the law during the proabition period because of the fact they didnt want the saliors drunk during the war... It was not against the law to buy it or have it or make it... It was just against the law to sell it... sorry a history fact i learned in US history 2 last semester!!! :)
This talk of history has stirred my encyclopedic knowledge of crap;
A little known fact is that marijuana actually used to be legal and was even used by Queen Victoria.
This remained so until the 1925 Geneva Convention on Narcotics Control and it was very nearly passed to remain as such. It was only by the most bizarre set of circumstances that it became a 'controlled substance'.
At the convention, all participating states discussed and voted on the use of each listed narcotic. The continued legallity of marijuana seemed a certainty until the Turkish delegate used his right to veto, declaring that Turkish doctors had discovered how smoking it only a couple of times sent the user completely insane and that hundreds of new asylums were having to be built in his native land to house the lunatics. Despite having no documentary or testimonial evidence to back his wild claims, his veto stood. The only criteria able to void this were if tetrahydrocannabinol (THC - the active incredient) could be extracted and either tabulated in strictly controlled measure for oral consumption or dissolved for intraveinous use. At the time neither were possible and the Turkish veto was upheld.
Rather ironically, the real problem in Turkey at the time was not with non-addictive marijuana but actually with highly-addictive opium, yet this was passed at the convention without opposition. Had this been vetoed in the same way we might now be without the most widely used surgical pain-killer the world over: Morphine
Until the 1971 Misuse of Drugs Act it still remained legal in the UK for a doctor to prescribe marijuana for medical purposes, however, this act of parliament referenced back to the vetoes of the Geneva narcotics conventions and introduced a blanket ban on all such substances, making it illegal to sell, prescribe, possess, cultivate or use. Provision within the act still allows the Home Secretary to issue special licence for the cultivation of marijuana but for scientific research purposes only.
And so concludes our lesson for today. :) lol
