Really Disappointed
I was watching the film Girl Interrupted earlier and was really disappointed by it. I have the book and really like that. i find it funny as iy focuses on the amusing things that happen. That would be how i would write a memoir of my hospital experiences if i chose to write one. Anyway i saw the film and thought it was crap. It just seems totally different and wasnt true to the book at all. Has anyone else found this or is it just me?

i havent read the book but i did find the film a bit meh.
I know it was based in the 60s so the diagnosis of BPD has changed a bit, but it just focused on the "promiscuise" side of the bpd (sorry cant spell that word).
but then they had to change a bit of it to make it more into a hollywood movie

I have read the book and enjoyed it very much and although the film does differ a bit from the book, I still found it a great watch and love both thouroughly.

I really really like the film.. I'd put it in my top 10 films ever.. But I did see the film before the book, so felt let down by the book..

The book is amazing. I meant to read it before I saw the film, but they showed it on FilmFour before I could order the book. The film is ok, if you watch it alongside the deleted scenes I think it is ALOT better, it goes into more detail about Susanna's hallucinations and the whole hand thing.

I watched the film before I read the book. I reeally like the film but was disappointed by the book.
It's just one of those things.
Like Harry Potter.
Or something.

The book and the film are two different things.
The book is not a script for the film.

I saw the film first and liked it, and when I read the book I wasn't too impressed with it.

I put it down on paper and then the ghost does not ache so much.

I have never read the books, but i like the film..I suppose they cant put everything in the film from the book or it would take for ages... Its like other books/films you see they can put them all the same!
