Ive self harmed over the last two days. Before that i was going on 6 months without cutting :\. Lately i just feel so alone. If i go back to cutting at least I'll have that. Ive also been doing alot of drinking lately and smoking a little pot. I feel like at least when i'm drunk and or high i can at least forget about how unhappy i am for a while. Idk to be honest i'm alittle drunk now so sorry for any typos:[. Idk i figured i should just try to write some stuff down here before i try to cut again or even try to kill myself again:( sorry if this dosn't make sense or is a waste of someones time:(

I guess you just gotta try to focus on the fact that temporarily forgetting your pain and problems wont fix them. It's easier to distract yourself than it is to actually deal with them in a way that allows you to move on...but...moving on is a huge amount better for you. I dont know anything about you or what's going on, so I cant give you a lotta advice, but just gotta try to work on finding out why you feel so alone, and then work on fixing that or taking steps to improve it.

It's not a waste on anyone's time. We're all here to help and support each other, so never feel like posting is a waste of time.

I'm sorry you're feeling so down at the moment. Remember though, that SI does not help. It may temporarily relieve how you are feeling, but in the long-term only creates more problems and doesn't solve anything. Is there anyone in real-life you can talk to about this at all?? Friends or family or professional help??

You can get through this. And as Mya said, try to figure out the causes for how you're feeling and go about trying to sort out those problems.

Was there a reason that caused you to self-harm? And can you think of a way to stop it happening again?

Drinking and taking drugs do not help. Alcohol is a depressant and so will only make you feel worse. All they are doing is prolonging the negative feelings, instead of allowing you to get over this hurdle and keep moving forward.

did you just move somewhere or something that got you feeling alone? if you're at a school or uni, there may be different sorts of groups you could join to make friends. or try calling up old friends to do something, just to get out and see somebody.

I came on here because Ive been feeling like I want to SH after only 3 months-ish of not doing anything. Managing for 6 months shows that youve got the strength to be able to do it again. Everyone has a slip now an again, but youve already proven that you can last a long time without it. This website has so many helpful ideas and people on it, that im sure when you try again to go without cutting youll be sucessful. Youve already shown you can do it :)
