Well sometimes I like to pinch myself for a super-temporary pain fix. Pinching hurts and lets me take my mind off of bothering issues, if only for a few little bit. Technically this may still be SI, but at least it doesn't leave any scars or cause any major damage.
Also - and this is probably a much better coping mechanism - I've gotten into the habit of running, which is good for you and gives you a "runner's high" that feels great afterwards. Exercise in general will make you feel better about yourself like you wouldn't believe. I'd recommend it. If you specifically want a "pain fix", try doing sit-ups, push-ups, or pull-ups until it burns - I like to think of this as cheating, because it puts your body in pain, but it's good for you and can actually help with depression.
