Is it the Meds?

I have been taking Celexa (citalopram) for a few months now. Recently, the company has switched manufacturers. It wasn't until I starting taking the pills from the new manufacturer that I started to have issues with shaking and muscle spasms, but it's been problematic as of late. First, about a month ago (within a week of filling my prescription with the pills from the new manufacturer) I started with the shaking. It was pretty bad, but my roomies were able to get it to stop two nights in a row. The next day, it was so bad I had to go to the hospital where it was classified as a panic attack. I still get twitchy and shaky at night sometimes, but I haven't had another full on panic attack. I'm worried about it heading in that direction again and of course that doesn't help at all. The doctors at the hospital said it was okay to keep taking the medication and that the pills from the new manufacturer have to have the exact same amounts of everything so that shouldn't make a difference. I wonder if I should speak up about being shaky and twitchy and if I do, do I bring it up to my councilor, my psychiatrist, or both?

I think speaking to whoever prescribed you the meds would be the best idea. Even if it isn't them, at least you'll know xxx

I take Citalopram too.
I'd talk to your doctor if it is making you worried.
Could be just side effects. It might take a while for them to stop.
Hope you're okay.

Well im no doctor but it is possible its the meds.

Im on sertraline and one brand of it makes my throat feel like its on fire, similar to acid reflux. I wanted to come off them it was so bad but just co-incidentaly the chemist gave me another brand and ive not had the problem since. The chemist specifically order that brand for me now.

Since the dose should be the same, I would be inclined to believe if it is the meds it is not the active ingredient, but rather one of the other ingredients that help the active ingredient [such as talc and colours/coatings] become a pill to swallow.

I would see whoever prescribes the med or try talking to the pharmacist who dispenses your meds.

I'd agree with MissAnonymous.
Ask your prescribing Dr or the pharmacist if there are any differences between the two.

I wanted to ask though, did you know there was a new manufacturer before you took them? Were you anxious about the new ones?
