when i was young my aunt and uncle (the ones who have Keith now :) took me and my sister to the beach every summer.
my fav year was when they blew up this little plastic boat for me and my sister and they took us way out in the ocean and they couldnt touch the bottom. and all of a sudden my aunt had a fit screaming "something touched my foot!!" she proceeded to try to climb in this tiny plastic boat. my sister and i were laughing so hard. my aunt is heavy and as she was climbing in the boat was filling with water. the next thing i knew my sister and i tipped out of the boat and my aunt was sitting in it!! my uncle had to push her back to shore and my sis and i swimmed back all the while laughing at her.
also, one summer they took us riding jet ski's and i was going fast and hit a wave and flipped it!! BUT there were dolphins everywhere around and i got to play with them :) SO much fun. i didnt even want back on the jet ski!
Aaw you sound like you had a lot of fun on those holidays! I think my favourite ever holiday has been going to the lake district/wales with my mom. Just having some time together and climbing up mountains and stuff :) It's been fun. Also one year in Wales we went horse riding and got to ride the horses over the beach in a gallop which was pretty amazing.
When I think of it - Gran Canaria in June 2005 (so when I was 12) with my parents and older sister. It was my first proper holiday and I just really loved it, really. The place was nice, I did lots of swimming, I actually liked the beach (even though people complained it was too sticky/fake), and on one of the days we went to some reptile safari thing in a hill, and it was super hot and sweaty in there. But I was obsessed with geckos and stuff back then! I was hoping to find one around naturally, but never. ;[
Unfortunately though, this was back when my sister would kick off quite easily and/or get violent, which put a damper in things sometimes, i.e. she got in a random massive row with some woman in McDonald's and I left out of awkwardness.
I've been to Ireland dozens of times too, but not for holidays, just to visit family, really. I used to love seeing my cousins there up until I was about 13, then I kind of grew out of it.
When i was 16 i went with my grandma and my cousin Maria to visit my dad in Venezuela. We were there for 2 weeks and it was so much fun. WE went to the Humboldt Caves, to an old fort and down in the Jungle where we fished for piranhas ( i tried to catch one by sticiking my finger into the water but the fish didn't seem too impressed with my cunning trick.... Stupid fish!!!). We visited a tribe of indians as well.
We also visited some of my dads wife's family and they were very nice and they even tried to cook european food for me and Maria (fried potatoes, dutch cheese and sausages.... Yes, we do eat that all the time in Europe, lol)
Oh my, that was back in 1998. I also went to London that year. We were poor students (it was a class trip) so i practically lived of McDonalds all week. On the way home i had too much red bull and got soooooo sick. Never touched that vile stuff since then. But it was awesome. I have never forgotten Camden Market.
italy with my mum. it was lovely spending time just me and her and we went on lots of excursions and learnt lots. favourite thing was either laughing at the fish shop woman chasing out two pellicans - they are HUGE, or my when my mum taught a tour guide to never talk about someone in a foreign language because they may well surprise you and be fluent in 3 foreign languages, inculding the one you just used to insult her with... muahah. and especially if the woman is my mum and she's worse than the hulk when she gets angry! haha. so many great memories for that holiday :)
8 years ago I spent 6 weeks backpacking around China with 2 friends. Best holiday ever! We did some brutally long and uncomfortable train journeys (the longest was 58 hours), stayed in several roach-infested hostels, I once had to shower in the most communal shower in the world (I think everyone in Urumqi's seen me naked), we saw some of the grimmest toilets on the planet and had MANY arguments with people trying to rip us off (we had almost no money) but we saw the Great Wall (both ends) and the terracotta warriors, we rode down the Yellow River in a raft made from inflated dead sheep, climbed up a glacier (and got altitude sickness), crossed the Gobi Desert, saw the pandas in Chengdu, got high in Yunnan. And generally learnt a lot about each other and ourselves.
Каждому, каждому в лучшее верится,
Катится, катится голубой вагон!
wow...ive seen lots of awesome vacations so far!!
i would love to see the Great Wall.
last year my mother and her husband actually went and lived with the Mayans for 2 weeks. she learned alot about their culture and had a great time. plus she brought me a home made necklace, made out of smooth, shaved rocks, green colored and just beautiful :)
I always loved summer camps.
I used to go to a circus sommer camp for 4 years on a row and now Im too old to go there as a child... so now I am a volunteer and I train the kids every summer.
Its great there. My fav place in the world.
You survived the abuse.
You're gonna survive the recovery.
Holland. I was only there for...two full days...and me and my best friend slept on a bench in a park like weird homeless ppl, but it was awesome. One of those vacations where at the time it's very stressful and it's a blur, but afterwards you're like "wow that was awesome".
Aaaaand South Africa. Negative circumstances brought me there, but I loved it. Really beautiful and different than what I was used to. Had a lotta fun.
