Should I get tested for ADD?

I have a hard time focusing on things that aren't really interesting to me. And I get distracted easily. I overthink things and miss the obvious, and I have a real problem with procrastination. But how do I know if it's normal or not? I don't want to spend the time to go see a doctor and seem paranoid by getting tested. I tried looking up symptoms online but they all seem so general or vauge.

Giving up doesn't always mean you're weak.
Sometimes it just means you're strong enough to let go.

You must have symptoms before age of 7 for it to be ADHD/ADD.
If you want to get assessed, go for it.
Could put you at peace of mind.

I dont think thats entierly true, you can still have adult adhd, you can still have adhd without knowing you have it in childhood, so it is possible to still develop it as an adult, my freind says hes asking to get tested for it as well and hes 28.

yes but you need to have had these symptoms at least from age 7 for it to be adhd/add, it is what i was told when i was being assessed.
you may not have thought "oh this might be adhd" but you still need to recall suffering from these symptoms since at least age 7.
if these symptoms have only recently begun showing, it isn't adhd.

anyway, as i said, if you want to get assessed then go for it.
from age 7 or not, if it is affecting you, see what is going on & get it sorted.
