How long for piportil to wear off?

Does anyone know how long it takes piportil to wear off? I stopped having it a couple of months ago and I still have some of the same side-effects, though to a slightly lesser degree.

Could you tell me what these side effects are? As far as I know, pipotiazine (piportil) is required every 4 weeks in its depot injection form. So after two months the majority of it should have been cleared out already.

Are you taking any other medication at the same time? Other medicines can interact with pipotiazine and increase its half life.

Also, how long have you been having pipotiazine for? Sometimes the side effects can be long-lasting if you have used this drug for a long time.

Side effects of Piportil

Hi!

Basically, they include: blurred vision; furry tongue; restlessness (pacing up and down or stepping from foot to foot); damage to fine movement control - such as handwriting or fine brushing movements (cleaning teeth); etc.

I was having the Piportil with Propranolol and Zopiclone. Propranolol is a beta-blocker and was intended to reduce restlessness. Zopiclone is a sleeping tablet and was intended to help me overcome the restlessness in bed (legs with a mind of their own).

I was on Piportil for one year. I'm on Olanzapine, now.

It doesn't sound likely that the side effects are due to the interaction of the three meds...were you taking any anticholinergic drug (e.g. Procyclidine) to combat the movement disorders caused by Piportil? Blurred vision can be a side effect of anticholinergics, whereas the muscle movement control and restlessness are typical of any drug belonging to the same class as Piportil.

So I think yes, these side effects could be a result of prolonged use of Piportil. It is best to speak to your doctor about these side effects.
