getting yelled at
Im not going to school and I dont have a job right now. Going to university soon.
I have to do a lot of chores at home and my mom asked me to cook once a week. I dont mind, I actually like that I have something useful to do.
Today Im supposed to cook and I came in the kitchen and its totally messy. There is still all the things from breakfast, the milk is still on the table. The pots and pans from yesterday are still dirty on the stove.
So, I have to clean everything before I can start to cook.
My mom came home and I asked her to clean the pots and pans, so I can use them.
She is expecting me to clean everything after I cook or bake, but she doesnt do it herself. I always have to clean her stuff before I cook and then my stuff after I cook.
And when I ask her to help me clean er things then we start to fight and she is yelling at me.
I told her that Im not going to cook anymore because I dont want to clean up her things. Dont get me wrong please.. I dont mind helping around the house.
Then she started to yell at me that Im the only lazy one here.

Your mum probably has a busy job and she probably doesn't realise that what she's doing is in fact wrong. I get that she views you as someone inferior because you have plenty of time but that doesn't mean she can march all over you by letting you clean up her mess. Tell her it's just once a week she needs to clean her pots & pans and you'll do everything she asks: cook once a week and clean afterwards. Please be gentle & calm. You don't want to start another fight. Good luck.

Maybe its just that as you dont have a job or school or anything at the moment, she just wants to give you things to do to keep you busy. I know that for myself (having left uni and having no job at the moment), my mum gives me chores alllll the time, because im at home and not doing anything and she's out working all day. It just makes sense really.
Hope you're ok.
