I'm 27, and have been a smoker since about age 14. I managed to almost quit once when i was pregnant, and recently was quit for about a year then caved. now, because of new laws banning smoking indoors in any public building many of my friends have gotten whats called an E-cig, looks like a cigarette but is a battery, atomizer, and cartridge. when you take a drag on it the battery powers the atomizer thats poking into the cartridge, vaporizing the nicotine inside so you get a puff of nicotine vapor. there is no tar and no 2nd hand smell or smoke and theyre currently legal here anywhere. (hospitals, restraunts...) as long as youre 18 or over. some states are trying to ban them since its a "cool electronic gadget" which may make teens wan to smoke but I think thats a bit nuts...
anyway, so i bought one and they say theyre a drug delivery system and cannot be marketed as a stop smoking aide (because its impossible to regulate exactly how much nicotine you get per puff, it varies on how hard and long you pull) but im guessing it might help keep the edge off of cravings. also,i think its better than gum or patches becuse you still get the "ritual" and oral sensations of normal smoking
has anyone here had any experience using these? did it help at all?

I don't smoke, but one of my managers got one of these and it helped her quit smoking altogether within a few months. They're expensive little things, though!
expensive at first but then cartridges are much cheaper than actual cigs

I am a veteran e-cig user. Been a 2 pack a day smoker for 30 years...tried patches, gum, meds..everything you can think of, nothing worked for long.
Found the e-cig and haven't looked back...been tobacco free for 2 years now,but don't plan on giving up the e-cig any time soon.
The most important thing is to be informed.....

I like the 510 myself and the 901. After you find you like them you can go with a "MOD"

I'm not a smoker, but a couple of my friends have bought the e-cig to try it out. Both have said it really helps them, and was well worth the money spent.

I've had friends give up with them, but no luck myself. Heaps of ppl i know are quitting with Champix tablets but you need GP prescription for them and they're not good for ppl with depression/anxiety issues like myself. Guess I'll just keep puffing away..... Is it wrong to not want to give up?
