Hey (Posted this in general too as wasnt sure where I'd get best reply)
Yesterday I moved into a shared house to rent. My mother agreed to be my guarantor, as one is required. However, as she is temporary living with her boyfriend, she is not a home-owner (her boyfriend is).
So she is invalid and I need to find another one.
Spoke to my landlord and she needs the decision by Monday. My mams boyfriend could sign it, but my mam says he probabaly wont.
I have no grandparents.
I have no-one really willing.
So my options are to either pay the whole years rent upfront, find someone else to be a guarantor, or leave and find somewhere else where a guarantor isnt necessary. (being a student makes it highly unlikely)
My mam has a large amount of cash and I asked to borrow some to pay the whole rent now, and literally pay her pay 100 pounds a week for a few month. She said no.
I could ask my dad but I havent seen him for over a year and it would seem like I was just using him. I dont think he will even say yes.
It doesnt even matter who signs it because i'm not going to default on payments anyways.
I'd rather pay it all off now so its no-one elses responsibility and its looking like the only available choice. So Ill have to increase my O/D contribute all my student loan payment in a few weeks and live off very little for a while.
Basically im screwed. Bleh, can someone help with advice?
