Ripping leaves off trees?
Ever since I was quite small I've had this habit of ripping leaves off trees and tearing them up. It just happens naturally. Ever since I started self harm, this got more frequent. I'm not sure if this means something, and I should be aware of it, or if this is just a stupid question?

Well, it's not very good for the trees. And I'm being serious. In a way, what you're doing is vandalism.
What is it you're really wanting to destroy?

I don't really know why.
When i'm on my own && i'm walking, or its dark.
I will do it just walking.
Im not sure why love, I know quite alot of people who do.
Take care

I do it with grass.
I rip out a hand full of grass and tear it in pieces... or I burn it if there is a fire.
Its just a habit for me.

I used to do this all the time when I was little, I don't know if it ever meant anything. I think it was just a bit of a nervous habit.

It could just be a nervous habit or maybe you just feel the need to be doing something with your hands? =) x

I think it speeks to release and distraction through repetition that may indicate some compulsive personality lying within you. This is not a bad thing really. But depending on your age and I'm guessing teens its a clue to your mental development or lack of coping mechanisms. HEY IT BEETS SIing yourself eh! So try and anylize it for fun. Look up compulsive behavior and look for similarities within yourself if they exist. This will help you know yourself. May I suggest trying different trees. If you find it hard to avoid a pattern this is another clue to compulsive behavior.
Sincerely,
Chris PM anytime. There is no stupid question especially when your trying to understand yourself, that is a good sign.

I agree with this, maybe invest in like a rubiks cube or something small you can carry around to keep your hands doing something that isn't hurting the environment.
Sorry if that sounds offensive it wasn't meant to.

i do this when i feel the need to self harm, i tend to imagine it as myself and rip it up, takes my anger out, so yeah the self harm could be some of the reason you do it more often

You called me an angel, there must be a twist,
Have you ever seen an angel with scars on her wrist?
And blood trickling down from a gash on her arm,
Have you ever seen an angel self harm?-Unknown
