And there should be a thing called App Store already on the phone. that'll take you to all the trustworthy apps.
Each app comes with a description of what it is and what it does, so you can decide for yourself what you think you might need and want.

I dont have an iphone but i have an android one, you should have an app already installed called andriod market - from there you can dowload anything, some will cost and some will be free, then you can spend countless nights downloading apps you will never need or use.
It really depends on what you like, i mainly dowload games because mines came preloaded with apps, but i love the game smiley pops and its free!!

I did want an IPhone.
But after playing on my friends, I don't want one.
I've had my Samsung Genio Slide for a few months.. and I dislike it already!
I wish to get a blackberry. :3

Uhm, I don't have too many aps on mine actually... Shazam is cool, and around me.
I'm not into aps really cause Iphones have a piss poor battery life. Get used to charging it daily!
Jailbreaking is a process that allows iPhone and iPod Touch users to run any code on their devices, as opposed to only that code authorized by Apple.
It allows for you to install any app (even ones removed from the app market by overlord jobs and modding (changing) of your iDevice application icons, wallpaper, dock, status bar, chat bubbles, weather backgrounds, keyboard.
ect
loads of stuff on it online, copied and pasted most of that.
Jailbreaking really isnt all its made out to be. Apart from making it look pretty, it slows it down and there isnt very much there tbh.
As for Apps. My two most used apps are pocket god!! (you get to kill all these little people in fun ways such as turning them into vampieres of letting a giant spider eat them. Its only 59p? but every sort of 6 weeks they bring out a new update and you get a load of new levels so it never gets old. ermm, the other one, I love, is piyo blocks. Its kinda like bejwelled with a score board and is mega addictive.
If you play any FB games, a lot of these you can get too. And there is usually a top 50 list of apps at the moment. (there is a list of top free apps and a list of paid apps)
Oh and my advice is to buy an itunes card for getting apps. with a pre paid card you can keep track of what you are spending, I find if I just keep my card registered, I end up with huge bills as I dont track anything. (and all those 59p's add up)
