Cruel woman dumps cat in roadside wheelie bin - caught on CCTV * Might Trigger*

Quote:
THIS CCTV footage captures the moment a middle-aged woman picks up a cat - and drops it into a wheelie bin.

The grey-haired woman, aged around 50, is filmed stroking tabby Lola on a wall outside a house on Brays Lane in Coventry at around 8pm on Saturday.

But she then suddenly grabs the four-year-old cat by the scruff of the neck before throwing it into a wheelie bin and slamming the lid closed. She then calmly walks away.

Terrified Lola was trapped in the bin for 15 hours before her owners Stephanie Andrews-Mann and husband Darryl finally found her the following morning.

Footage of the attack was captured by a CCTV camera which the couple use to monitor the front of their home.

They have now posted the video on YouTube and Facebook in a bid to track down the culprit.

Darryl, 26, a mobile phone repair man, said: 'I'd like to know how she would feel if she was stuck in a bin for 15 hours without food or drink.

'I came down to feed Lola on Sunday morning but couldn't find her anywhere.

'It was really hot day and outside and I searched nearby alleyways but suddenly heard a tiny meowing coming from the bin.

'I looked inside and I found her in the bin, she was terrified and covered in her own mess.

'At first I thought she'd somehow climbed inside the bin herself but when I checked the CCTV I was gobsmacked to see some woman had done in deliberately.'

Darryl lives with Stephanie, 24, a customer services worker with Ford and her eight-year-old daughter from a previous relationship, Chloe.

Stephanie said: 'I find the entire thing sickening. I cannot believe someone would do this to an innocent family pet.

'Lola was a rescue cat and was wary of people when we first got her.

'She has a lovely disposition and really wouldn't hurt a fly. This is what makes the attack on her so shocking.

'I really want to find the woman who did this to her, she must be stopped.'

I really don't understand why anyone would do something like that. What I found more chilling was the fact that she was stroking her first.

I don't really have any words to describe what I want to say adequately, but this is sick and disturbing :/.

This is just so upsetting =( some people should just be locked up. I don't care if it was "just a cat" its somebody's family member. I think doing something like this should instantly get them jail time.

Ah I saw that in the Metro - it's horrific. Shows you also can't judge a person by what they look like either, because she looks from the cctv like a generally normal/nice middle aged/oldish woman. It makes you wonder what was going through her head when she stroked it first?!

Watch out for dog poo. Smile at people - even grumpy ones. Remember anything is possible & whatever you do always try to look on the bright side."

Why did she do it though? For all we know the cat could have been wrecking her garden. People can only tolerate things for so long before they snap. I'm not saying what she did was right, only that I don't think it's right people judge without knowing anything about her.

A BRITISH woman who was filmed dropping a cat in a garbage can was offered police protection after she was identified by an animal protection authority.

<!-- google_ad_section_end(name=story_introduction) -->
<!-- // .story-intro --> <!-- google_ad_section_start(name=story_body, weight=high) --> The unnamed middle-aged woman, from Coventry in central England, was tracked down by the Royal Society for the Prevention of Cruelty to Animals (RSPCA) after she was caught on film dumping the cat.

According to British Sky News, the RSPCA said today that the woman was being offered police protection because of the "backlash against her." The RSPCA refused to name the woman.

The bespectacled, grey-haired woman, who appears to be in her 50s, was filmed on Saturday walking along Stephanie and Darryl Mann’s street in Coventry.

In the recording, the woman spots the Manns' four-year-old cat Lola and strokes her tenderly before suddenly grabbing her by the scruff of the neck and calmly dumping her in a trash can. She then closes the lid and walks away.

The couple found Lola some 15 hours later when they heard the cat meowing in the bin.

The cat has since recovered from the ordeal.

The couple's home security system captured the footage of the animal cruelty, and they posted it online in the hope that someone would recognize the woman.

I saw the CCTV footage on the news last night.
How sick can someone be? And Why the hell did she stroke it all nicely first before doing it?

I think this woman is very disturbed, and needs some serious psychiatric help. Who knows why she did this, there is no excuse for it either way, but maybe she is a very unwell woman who needs some help... *shrugs*

Very what the... I do think this woman needs help though, she may not have done it because she hates cats.. she could have been mentally ill and done it without kinda of realising it. They may have offerd her protection on the fact that if she is mentally ill she wont get better by being harassed

Needs to sleep more

This sort of thing makes me so, so angry :( I can understand that some people don't like animals - that's fair enough, their choice.. but I can't understand how someone can want to inflict suffering on them.

I'd like to put that stupid woman in a bin in hot weather for 15 hours.

Some of the comments below the article make me want to go kick some ass as well :(

It also looks suspiciously like the stroking beforehand is to make the cat feel secure so it doesn't run away - you can see her looking at and edging towards the bin as she's doing it. If she just lunged in and grabbed at the cat without fussing it it would probably run away.

Love you Chiefy x

I agree with Sarah. I know this is an "excuse" that we might use often, but this does sound like disturbed behaviour.

I do feel for the poor cat, though.

Dude, if anyone did that to my cats theyd be in the rubbish bin themselves -_-. Seriously though, she might be mentally ill and obviously if she is then she needs help, but its still disgusting what she did.x

Agreed, the comments are in some ways, worse than the article!
My cats are outdoor cats, but rarely leave the garden and the worst thing they kill is grasshoppers. If my cat was on its own fence & that happened, i'd be pretty peeved...& god forbid i ever saw that woman pass the house agian

I would love to know her reasons, but regardless there is no excuse.

Well everyone knows who it is now and she said in an interview she did it as a joke and thought it would be funny to dump it in a bin thinking it would get out itself. I had to laught though when she said she didnt deserve the amount of hate she has been getting, of course she does, she intentionally hurt and animal for a cheap laugh.
