Dependent personality disorder?
I think i may have dependent personality disorder. I only heard of it today but i've been reading up on it and alot of the symptoms seem to fit.
I always like to be in a relationship and when i am in a relationship i alwas rely on the other person alot. I also sometimes ask them to make decisions for me. I know i can't live without reassurance and maybe even aympathy and attnetion from others, although i don't like to admit this. I've always had my own fantasy world ever since i was little and i relaised most of my fantasies involve someone else looking after and supporting me. my question is does this sound like it could be that? And is their anyone out their who has this disorder?

No-one on here can say whether it is or isnt.
If it's impacting your life then see a doctor or talk to the relevent professionals about it, because self diagnosis can be rather unhelpful as you may begin to feel like you need to act or be a certain way subconsciously producing symptoms .
You should get help on the problems you have not a diagnosis, as not everyone fits in a stringent criteria. And theres nothing wrong with that.

I hope for nothing. I fear nothing. I am free.

I can relate a lot to what you're experiencing. I also have attachment/relationship difficulties, in my case due to things that happened in my past. I don't have a diagnosis of dependent personality disorder, though it's widely acknowledged by anyone involved in my treatment that I have attachment problems, involving both dependency and avoidance of relationship.
It can feel comforting to put a name to these troubles, as they can be exceptionally painful. A label doesn't solve the problem though, and can displace from the pain. Are you currently in therapy?

Self diagnosis is never a good idea, because you cannot be objective.
I would advise you to see a psychiatrist if you think you may have this.
However, I can relate to a lot of what you have written although I have borderline PD and not dependent PD.

Isn’t it funny how day by day nothing changes but when you look back, everything is different…
you once called your brain a hard drive, well say hello to the virus.

Relationship distress can indeed come from having parents who aren't seemingly interested in our feelings and thoughts.
