voices question

Hi just a question regarding voices.

I'm just curious really, when it's quiet (like bed time) or when i'm stressed and stuff i have this dialogue going on in my head. It's an evil'ish kind of mans voice telling me i'm a useless **** or it's telling me to hurt people. The thing is i'm not sure if it's just me talking to myself in my head in a different voice or what? Usually on hear it when i think about it so that maybe explains a lot i don't know, just curious, does this kind of voice happen to anybody else? I've never spoken about it before, been going on a while, just curious cus i'm not sure if its normal.

Thankyou

Voices within your head are usually your own thoughts, but I would discuss this with a professional if it worries you and they can prob help you deal with ways so you don't think about this stuff and end up hearing all these horrible things because you are thinking about it....if that makes sense? Its like many anorexics say they hear a girl telling them not to eat, not their voice, but it isn't a auditory hallucination as it is within their head. Auditory halucinations sound just like normal person is speaking to you - you know like when we think we hear someone shouting our name but no one is (just gave that as an example as most people have experienced that).

I get that sometimes, you're not alone. Hearing voices can take on several forms. I agree with the above, mention it if you see a councillor.

Music fills the silence when nothing else can.

Thanks for replies

It probably is just me then, but it's weird. Never heard external voices, only inner voices so it's probably nothing. I don't see anybody from the CMHT anymore so nobody to ask except on here. Thnakyou peeps

It clearly concerns you so maybe it is worth even talking to your GP about....or speaking to someone on a helpline? Might not help but could have some ideas for you?
