iPod and iTunes question

I thought it was as simple as plugging your iPod into the usb thingy and unticking the songs you want taken off it from iTunes. But no, it didn't work did it. Can somebody please help me and tell me what I'm doing wrong?

You may have to manually go into the iPod (by clicking the music under the name of your ipod) and delete the songs by selecting them and pressing the delete button.

Are you syncing it automatically or manually transferring the songs?

^ Easiest way to do it is have the set up like I have there. Then select all the music you want and drag it over to your iPods name and it will sync it. Then whenever you need to delete something, all you have to do is find the song you don't want on your ipod, select it and click delete. To put a new song on, all you have to do is find it and drag it across. Hope you get something sorted!

I've done that but they didn't come off my iPod this time. I don't even know what I did last time for them to come off. And I've done what Tiff said to do back in August.

I just have a playlist for my ipod, then when i plug in my ipod, choose it to sync only with the playlist. That way if you remove something fromt he playlist, on your next sync it will get taken off your ipod, and same for adding it back on :) Way easier in my opinion anyway

Step 1; Open Itunes

Step 2; Create new playlist with the + button at the bottom left(?) of your screen

Step 3; Choose your songs & drag and drop them over your playlist

Step 4; Check playlist to make sure it has everything you put on there in it, if not then add it again.

Step 5; Connect your Ipod via USB or the Firewire cable

Step 6; Your ipod should show on your itunes (If you have trouble with this and have more than one USB cable or USB slot, try all options, my Ipod only works with one of the 5 slots i have...). If you have already set it to sync with your playlist, it should start to sync by itself, you can stop this but tbh it's best to let it do it's thing.

Step 7; Go onto your 'ipod'. Check it's fully updated, and then go into the music tab.

Step 8; On this tab you will see the list of playlists available to add, make sure a tick is in the box of any you want syncing onto your ipod.

Step 9; Click Apply at the bottom right corner

Step 10; Click the Eject button, and enjoy your music :)

If this doesn't work then set your ipod back to factory settings (this will delete everything already on it) and try the steps again on a clean slate.
Hopefully this helps?
