Quetiapine for depression and anxiety
Has anyone had any experience of using low-dose Quetiapine for (non-psychotic) depression and anxiety? I haven't responded to three antidepressants, and this is the next thing they are trying, along with Mirtazapine. Thanks

I was never put on quetiapine for those reasons but I've been on it. I found it very sedating so you might wanna take it right before you go to bed.

See I cannot feel this, not matter how you try and in the real world, there's no goodbyes.

Thanks.
Also, could someone explain how it boosts the antidepressant effect? Because I thought antipsychotics block serotonin receptors, but isn't a lack or serotonin associated with depression

A low-dose of quetiapine is used as a (off label/unofficial) mood stabiliser. So it's often used in combination with anti-depressants to boost the effects (especially if you seem 'resistant' to anti-depressants), regardless of whether you have unipolar or bipolar depression.

I was on it for pschotic episodes but at like 200mg.
Cat's on it for SH related issues at like 25mg.
I guess it just tends to block stuff out and things but I don't know. I do however know of a good website www.crazymeds.us that can tell you more.
(Mods feel free to get rid of the link if you need too but I'm pretty sure it's safe)
