I have had my little lorikeet, Kimi, for just over a year now. I got her as an abandoned chick and she had to be handraised, as such she is inseperable from me. Insists on being in the shower with me in the morning, sharing breakfast, and then staying with me all day if I don't have school. But it's sad on school days because she gets so distressed on her own.
One of my friends has a breeding pair of the same lorikeets (scaly breasted), who had a baby about a year and a half ago. The "baby" was brought over a couple of weeks ago to play and the two loved each other...long story short, I have a new family member in my clan, Fawkes the lorikeet!
They are so sweet together! I'm so glad to see her happy and hoping that tomorrow when I go to school she will have the best day without me ever :).

Awww, so cute! Post pics when you have some! Birds are such lovely pets, I used to have a lovebird and he was adorable, used to curl up on my shoulder and fall asleep, and snuggle himself under my hair for a cuddle. They really are the most rewarding pets :)
Finally took some pics :). In the first picture (on the bookshelf- they spent the arvo exploring) Kimi is further forward on the metal grill and Fawkes (the new one) is sitting further along on the shelf :).

Having fun with them- though it is total chaos everytime I get them out! (in a good way rather than an uncontrollable worrying way haha).
