Night Terrors (don't think its triggering) Please Help!
Hi, I was just speaking to my dad about my childhood and something came up that I had never heard about myself before.. he told me that when I was 4 I had night terrors and it happend at the exact same time every night and I was doing the exact same thing.. I would sit up in bed with my chin toward the seeling and i would have my arm streched out and I would be screaming as loud as I could "I don't wanna die" this happend every night untill I was 11.
I don't understand this.. do you think something could have caused this? Some sort of trauma that I don't remember or behaps past life? though I don't really belive in that, im not really sure but im really curious to find out why this has happend... please share your view

Have you tried dialoguing with yourself when you were 4? You can do that by letting the child-state write with your non-dominant hand. It can help access things from your unconscious.
Also, have you asked your dad why he thinks it happened?
I would also suggest watching your dreams.
You may not get an answer, but at least you'll start to get in touch more with that feeling state, which obviously was trying to express something.
Another thing, if you had a traumatic birth, that can be a cause of similar things too. I know my traumatic birth and early days were one of the main causes of my childhood [and adult, now] anxiety and fears.

Yep, you write your questions with your regular hand and let the child state speak through the non-dominant hand. It's an inner child type exercise.
Your dad is possibly right. It might help to ask him - and your mum, if you can, what you were like as a baby and toddler, and how your birth was.

i used to have night terrors when I was a child aswell, Don't know why or what they were about but I was just odd anyways and my sleeping has always been odd. My dad used to drive me around in the car when I was a baby in the middle of the night when I had woken up crying and things haha.
I would say, If you really want to try and find out why or find out some stuff your first port of call would be your parents and finding out about your birth but be careful incase it is supressed memories or something. If your working alongside a counsellor it might be worth mentioning it to her/him

Life can be beautiful if you let it.
Step back, breathe and take it in

Suppressed memories are usually something that you buried to the back of your mind because it was too painful.
I would also definitely tell your counsellor about it.

Hey. I used to have night terrors too. No one ever knew why though. I still get the feelings I had with them (I remember some parts) now.
Sorry, this reply is pretty useless.

I have night terrors, unusually for my age. But my doctor says they are very common in young children. Work finding out more about, but I wouldn't panic, they are quite common in young children.

My brother had night terrors when he was younger...but i read up on them and apparently it is very common and only sometimes caused by some sort of traumatic experience.
