Heyy i've been on liquid fuloxetine(prozac/prozep ec.) For quite a while, in my experience I didn't find it helpful in treating depression. I got side effects liek nausea, fatigue, headaches, dizziness soemtimes, nausea was the worst! But that's not to say it won't work for you, just be prepared for the side effects, and it can make young peple feel more suicidal sometimes so you just have to be vigilant really.
Try to avoid the liquid version, it tastes gross :L

Um well if I'm honest it made me very very suicidal & I lost too much weight on it, so for me it wasn't the best idea

I took it for a few years. I found it good as an anti-depressant. It did give me an upset stomach but that only lasted for a week or so.

I had to come off it in the end as I gained 1.5 stones which caused me a lot of distress and also it affected my concentration and physical co-ordination and made me tired a lot.

I had to fight to come off it as my GP didn't seem to respect what I was saying.

In the end I came off it but the withdrawal symptoms were quite bad and I'm still struggling with them but hopefully it should go in a couple of weeks.

If you do come off it after being on it for a while I'd suggest using the liquid to come off it really really gradually (even though I've heard it tastes vile) as the withdrawal symptoms are nasty.

If you don't get bad side effects though, it could be a good antidepressant. I know one person who's been on it for years and thinks its great. I would probably have stuck with it if it weren't for the side effects.

Ive been on it for nearly 5 years. I think it helps with OCD for me, and depressive episodes. I do have some side effects like nausea and heartburn, but these only really occur when I up the dose or dont eat enough.

It is an SSRI type anti-depressant and for the majority weight changes arn't a problem, hell of a lot less of a problem when its this type of anti depressant. You could get a dry mouth, thats very common, but if the med helps, I doubt you'll be bothered being a bit more thirsty than normal.

I hope it helps. x

I was on it from 2008 'til a few months ago. It took a few weeks to work but after that it helped get me out of "severe depression," although it didn't help with my obsessive rituals. It had to be upped once when it didn't seem to be doing anything, and eventually it stopped working and made my anxiety a lot worse so I came off it. I don't remember having any side effects. So good and bad experiences really.
Good luck with it. x

I think it's different for everyone - some people will find it great, some will find it not so much.

Personally I found it made me feel like a zombie, all I wanted to do was sleep all the time, so I came off it. But obviously there are people on this forum that will swear by it. Everyone reacts differently to drugs, so I would say to try it if you feel it's necessary, and see how you feel on it :)

Love you Chiefy x

It made me suicidal and worsened my depression and anxiety. I felt sick, couldn't stop shaking, had the most aweful night sweats and unpleasant dreams. Everyone has different reactions to pills, though.

Best of luck x

I was on it for a few months, it made me feel sick for the first few weeks and the tablets kept getting stuck in my throat.
It helped a little though so don't be put off by the side effects like nausia.

See I cannot feel this, not matter how you try and in the real world, there's no goodbyes.

Yeah, it's different for everyone, so please give it a chance if your doctor thinks it's right for you. For me it was the first med they put me on and it totally zombified me, but most psych meds do that to me, I just get mega side effects for not much benefit.

I've been on it for 3 months and haven't found it very good tbh. It made me feel much much worse to begin with, I self harmed a lot more after going on it than I did before. I also get really bad heartburn and a dry mouth from it. When I told my doctor that I didn't think it was helping, she suggested upping it, which I didn't want to do at all because I don't like being on it in the first place. I have already asked to come off it but she keeps telling me to give it more time.
However, my mum was on it when she had postnatal depression and she said it worked really well for her.

My mum took it and it really helped her.

When I took it, it did nothing.

The first time I was on it I didn't have any real side effects but wasn't on it long so it didn't have chance to work.

The second time well we won't go there!

The first time I was on it I felt great for a week but then my mood lowered again. The second time I was on it I felt good for a day. I don't think I had any side effects though. Hope you find it helpful. Good luck and take care.

Sparky!

I found it horrible, I couldn't sit still for the first week and after that I was much more suicidal & impulsive than I had been before taking it, it was not a nice experience.

However, everyone is different - it works brilliantly for my mum and always gets her out of depression. I would give it a go and hopefully it will be helpful for you :)
