Disabling Private Messages - Help please

Hi

im probably being stupid here but i cant get my private messaging to disable.i click to disable it and save but then it looks like its all still there etc when i go back to the main page.Is this cos i have messages from before and maybe some unread ones too - ive been ill recently and cant always manage to read PM's.Would this be why or is it disabled but just still looks live to me or do i need to log out and then back in or something before the settings take effect.

Knowing me its probably something quite simple but i dont know what it is.

Hi ive tried logging out and back in again and that doesnt work either it seems to resove it.

i will try and make sure the settings are right again but ive done this numerous times now.

Be really grateful if admin/mods could get back to me on this when they are able but do realise that you may be busy/not online right now.

Sorry ive managed this now thanks it seems thank goodness.

im sorry i posted.Was just panicking.

Can delete this if you want mods and admins.Its probably pretty pointless now.

But incase anyone else ever has the same problem it seems it was cos i still had old or unread messages which i hadnt saved to my computer or deleted.

Once id saved them to my computer and deleted them from my inbox and also my sent messages it was fine - just for future reference.

Glad you've sorted it, but I see no reason why this thread should be deleted, unless you want it to be? I mean, the fact that you've highlighted your reason and posted what the answer is could be really useful for somebody in exactly the same position, it seems a bit of a waste of information to delete it :)

i hadnt really thought of that - well i had sort of but then i felt pathetic for having posted and then sorting it regardless lol!
