Do some relaxing breathing before you go.

How about some lavender oil on your pillow last thing before bed so you get a good nights sleep? Hot milk before bed? Oil burner beside your bed with lavender oil in? Relaxing music on a stereo?

hot milk never worked for me and i always listen to music when trying to sleep so those options are ruled out instantly however, never heard of the lavender oil on the pillow idea before. does that really work for people?

Perhaps write out on a paper for yourself, the reasons you are going, what the outcome will be and perhaps write a short 'to do list' for that day. Perhaps re reading this list will help you anticipate some of the days events.

Also perhaps write some things you might have to say or want to say. A little list of notes of possible questions and answers you may get. I find this helps me when faced with a new and stressful situation.

it's not a stressful type situation at all actually. it's just like people are scared of clowns, only i'm scared of court rooms. just had some really bad experiences with them back when i was a kid.

seriously, do you take any anti-anxiety meds? they might help. if not, take some benadryl...it may make you a little sleepy but will help you get through the situations.

i can relate...youre scared of courtrooms and im scared of people!! lol...

*hugs*

i'm not on anti-anxiety medicine at all and i need to have a clear mind for this particular court appearance due to the fact that this lays out the terms everything.

Before you go, you can
・contact to good friends .
・chat on the internet
・play with pet
・massage
・read books
・play computer games
・listen musics
・think what can you imagine that would make you feel happy.
・think things to be happy about.
・think of a hero in a book or film or tv who has felt anxious.and how did they cope with the feeling.Think what did they do or think that stopped the feeling becoming too strong?
・think If your friend was feeling anxious, how could you help them? Would this work for you too?

On that day, you can
・ take a deep breath
・ bring a note'I am going to be ok'.

May be you can write down your worries before you go.

And go to bathroom for calm you down.
I hope It helps....

thanks for the advice, ainomitama. even though it was a bit nerve wrecking i did manage to make it through that court appearance just fine and everything worked out great. thankfully it was a very happy ending to a 6 year saga. :)
