Ten + Reasons why Bullying IS Abuse - help needed to complete the list!
Help me make the 10, people. :)Add your reason below.
1. Someone wields their power over you to gain power for themselves and make you powerless and helpless in the face of them. They feel bigger and you feel smaller, humiliated and powerless.
"Bullying" is just an easier word for children to say than "harrassment." They're exactly the same behavior, only as you get older you should know better.

2. Bullying leaves you with a victim mentality, unable to see the good in yourself.
3. Verbal abuse is just as painful as physical.
4. People don't interfere when a peer is harming you, letting it continue for a long time.
5. It often includes physical assault.
6. The long term effects that bullying can have will leave you scarred, often permanently.

8. A person who is being bullied is a human as much as the abuser. [the abused? - can you clarify? Thanks. :)]
Any victim, be it of bullying or abuse, is human and deserves certain rights. The abuser is also human and should respect these rights. I counted bullies as abusers.
9. Bullying can lead to depression later in life.
10. In older years, it escalates into physical harassment and direct attacks.
11. With the "wonders" of the internet, bulling can become learning the victims every personal secrete in an effort to humiliate them and possible prevent them from being able to move on beyond.

I added a part to the depression one, I hope you don't mind. :)
We can of course keep the list going - 10 is not a set-in-stone limit by any means! We have 11 already!
Hey i think this thread was a really good idea! Thanks for starting it.
i have two.My first one though especially is a bit similar to what some youve already got.
16 Bullying can really damage and dent somebodys own self perception. They may never recover from that or believe in themselves as much again.
17 Bullying can restrict peoples lifes and activities for instance bullying may make people too scared and frightened to go to places like their school/college/workplace or even to go out at all depending on the circumstances.
i do not always manage to be around but i wish you all the very best - love and luck to you all!
Bullying is unforgettable. It causes you to break off who you are and how you meet people as you often distance yourself for fear of getting hurt which, in fact, only serves to end up hurting you just as much in the long-run. It's a viscous cycle.
Bullying alters your belief system. You are blinded by what others say to try and convince you as to the positives of your personality as it just doesn't 'fit' with what you think and you believe. You're setting yourself up for a fall, every single time.
(Don't know if those make sense or are repeating what others have said, I did check but apologies in advance just in case!) :)
